Our Funding Partners

The Ohio Transformation Fund's founding partners contribute both as funders and active participants in the development and growth of the Ohio Transformation Fund. We welcome additional funding and strategic partners, including private and family foundations, community foundations, and individual donors.

The Ford Foundation

The Ford Foundation, established in 1936, supports visionary leaders on the frontlines of social change worldwide. The Foundation's Civil and Criminal Justice Systems program is to ensure access for marginalized groups to a robust criminal justice community committed to fairness and equal protection under the law.

The Needmor Fund

The Needmor Fund is a family foundation established in 1956 in Toledo. The Needmor Fund’s mission is to work with others to bring about social justice, supporting people who work together to change the social, economic, or political conditions which bar their access to participation in a democratic society. The Needmor Fund is the only Ohio-based foundation that exclusively funds community organizing. 

The Partnership/Partnership Action Funds

Formed in 2013,  the Partnership Fund and Partnership Action Fund is a collaborative fund supported by several funding institutions who work together and learn with organizations and leaders that empower communities to achieve local, state, and national change. 

Greater Cincinnati Foundation

The Greater Cincinnati Foundation creates a prosperous Greater Cincinnati by investing in thriving people and vibrant places. An effective steward of the community's charitable resources since 1963, the Foundation inspires philanthropy in eight counties in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. Through their Strong Communities program area, GCF seeks to promote a comprehensive community development approach by improving the physical, economic, and social conditions of neighborhoods, and enhance quality of life, strengthen community and civic engagement.

Art for Justice Fund

Founded in 2017, the Art for Justice Fund believes in the enduring power of art to call for change, to expose injustice, and to empower communities. The Fund connects the generosity of collectors with the creativity of artists and the ingenuity of advocates to help solve the crisis of mass incarceration.

The George Gund Foundation

One of the key philanthropic leaders in Ohio, the George Gund Foundation, was established in 1952 and is based in Cleveland. The Foundation is committed to meeting the changing opportunities and challenges in our society and has a strong history of philanthropy in the field of juvenile justice. 

The Raymond John Wean Foundation

Established in 1949 and based in Warren, The Raymond John Wean Foundation has been a leader in innovating new initiatives to be a catalyst for positive change in the counties it serves. The Foundation has a demonstrated history of focusing on resident engagement and building networks for collective impact. The Raymond John Wean Foundation represents one of the regions in Ohio that is most impacted by the inequities of the criminal justice system and has a strong existing base of returning citizens engaged in addressing these issues.

The Saint Luke's Foundation

The Saint Luke's Foundation was established in 1997 as the charitable arm of the Saint Luke's Medical Center. Through the Resilient Families program strategy, Foundation catalyzes and sustains opportunities to ensure that community resources meet their families' needs and empower parents to implement their vision for the health and well-being of their families. The strategy supports partners that value the intrinsic assets within families and empower families to support themselves and on another. They are committed to ensuring that families build strong networks and ties to grassroots and community-based resources as they recognize that sustainable solutions exist in neighborhoods and between individual families.

The Cleveland Foundation

Founded in 1914, The Cleveland Foundation’s mission is to enhance the lives
of all residents of Greater Cleveland, now and for generations to come, by
working together with donors to build community endowment, address needs through grantmaking, and provide leadership on key community issues. The Cleveland Foundation's responsive grantmaking seeks to improve access to services and programs for vulnerable and underserved populations, strengthen nonprofit organizations, test new ideas and different partnerships, and support policy and advocacy.
